Over the past year and change, the pandemic has caused a huge shift towards virtual health and a reinvigorated focus on our health and well-being. These dramatic changes have resulted in existing patients bringing new demands to their trusted healthcare organizations. Because of these changes, the role of the CIO has changed from more of a clinical focus towards more of a patient focus. As healthcare organizations are faced with new challenges from our current landscape — provider competition, employee burnout and staffing, and expanding the digital reach of healthcare – CIOs now have to adapt and evolve to make sure there is value creation for all stakeholders involved.
